Helping Hands is a playful soft sculpture created as a physical alternative to doomscrolling - at least for a week.
I transformed an unused pregnancy pillow into a pair of oversized embracing arms. I developed full-scale paper patterns, reshaped the original pillow, constructed and stuffed the hands, and created a deep-blue textile cover.
The finished object can be hugged, wrapped around the body or used to keep both hands away from the phone.
Inspired by the work of Haus of Hands.
